Thriller Recipe

Thrillers are usually fast pacing with frequent action, with heroes that are less experienced or equipt than the villan (the hero is the underdog). Suspense, red herrings and cliffhangers are used a lit in thrillers, this is a vallain driven plot which means he makes the hero's job even harder and by putting obstacles in the hero's way which they must overcome. 

The genre is flexible and engage the audience through a dramatic remdering of psychological, social and politic tensions. Thrillers often take place in exotic places, the hero's are usually "hard men" like police man or tey can be normal citizens. The lead hero's are usually men.

Thrillers that have the hero killed I'm the process is usually influenced by film noir or tragedy.
